NOW OPEN EAST/WEST ACCESS

Crews have opened east-west access on 10400 South crossing Bangerter Highway with one lane available in each direction.

New traffic restrictions will be in place through late December while crews continue construction activities. Drivers, residents and businesses can expect the following:

  • Left-hand turn movements on/off Bangerter Highway closed

  • Right-hand turn movements on/off Bangerter open

  • Northbound/southbound Bangerter Highway remains open

Alternate routes are encouraged.

Bangerter Highway

Crews continue construction of the new 10400 South bridge structure with concrete paving, cast in place barrier, and polymer overlay. Excavation, drainage work, and concrete paving continues at the on- and off-ramps; drivers can expect changing traffic patterns when entering and exiting Bangerter Hwy.

10400 South

Drainage installation, excavation, and roadway reconstruction work is ongoing on 10400 South. Business access will remain open at all times; drivers are advised to note changing access points to facilitate this work.

Plan Ahead

Construction activities are ongoing day and night. Residents, businesses, and drivers should be aware of trucks entering and exiting the work zone, as well as noise, dust, vibration, and nighttime construction lighting.

Drivers and pedestrians are advised to note reduced speeds of 45 mph, changing traffic patterns, uneven roadway surface, and on-site construction activities and equipment while navigating in the area

ABOUT THE PROJECT

As part of its efforts to keep traffic moving on Bangerter Highway now and into the future, UDOT will build freeway-style interchanges at 6200, 10400, and 12600 South. This is a continuation of UDOT’s multi-year effort to upgrade Bangerter Highway and the east-west arterial roads in order to meet the traffic demands of western Salt Lake County.
