INTERCHANGE CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY
PROJECT UPDATE SEPTEMBER 16, 2021
East-west closure in place through early November
Crews have implemented an east-west closure on 10400 South crossing Bangerter Highway, similar to the east-west closure on 12600 South. This closure will facilitate construction of the underpass and will be in place through early November.
Designated detour routes are marked for drivers navigating the area.
10400 South access at Whispering Sands Drive Closure
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will close the 10400 South access at Whispering Sands Drive for one week. The road will be closed to drivers and pedestrians from Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 7 a.m. through Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. This work will allow crews to install a South Jordan City waterline, construct a new curb and gutter, and complete paving.
Crews have begun and continue construction of the new Bridge Structure, including forming and placing rebar for the Bridge Deck. Earthwork and Drainage crews continue with the installation of new storm drain pipes and placement of aggregate materials for the roadway subgrade. Asphalt and concrete paving operations are scheduled in the coming weeks.
Drainage installation and roadway construction is ongoing on 10400 South in front of Costco. Business access will remain open at all times; drivers are advised to note changing access points to facilitate this work.
Construction activities are ongoing day and night. Residents, businesses, and drivers should be aware of trucks entering and exiting the work zone, as well as noise, dust, vibration, and nighttime construction lighting.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to note reduced speeds of 45 mph, changing traffic patterns, uneven roadway surface, and on-site construction activities and equipment while navigating in the area
