INTERCHANGE CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY
PROJECT UPDATE JUNE 11, 2021
East-west closure in place through early November
Crews have implemented an east-west closure on 10400 South crossing Bangerter Highway, similar to the east-west closure on 12600 South. This closure will facilitate construction of the underpass and will be in place through early November.
Designated detour routes are marked for drivers navigating the area.
Landscaping is taking place on the south side of 10400 South between River Heights and Willow Valley Road as part of storm drain relocation activities in the area. This will be ongoing through late May.
Crews will begin demolition of the existing middle portion of mainline Bangerter Highway. This will include concrete breaking and crushing, excavation, and hauling for the new underpass.
Construction activities are ongoing day and night. Residents, businesses, and drivers should be aware of trucks entering and exiting the work zone, as well as noise, dust, vibration, and nighttime construction lighting.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to note reduced speeds of 45 mph, changing traffic patterns, and on-site construction activities and equipment while navigating in the area
