INTERCHANGE CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY
PROJECT UPDATE Oct. 23, 2020
Big Meadow Drive
Driveway approach removal
Beginning Monday, Oct. 26, crews will remove the driveway approaches at the north end of Big Meadow Drive. Residents in the area can expect increased construction equipment, activity, vibration, and noise. This will take place during daytime hours.
Southbound on- and off-ramp construction
Traffic has shifted to the east side of Bangerter Highway and will remain in place through late 2020.
Pipe crews are working to install new storm drain pipe and boxes for the new interchange and ramp drainage.
Temporary barrier is currently in place on southbound Bangerter between 10400 South and 11400 South to facilitate utility relocations on the west side.
10400 South utility relocations
Crews are performing utility relocations directly on 10400 South as preparatory work for upcoming excavation activities. Utility work includes water and irrigation transmission pipelines, power distribution, sewer, telecommunication, and gas facilities.
Construction activities are ongoing day and night. Residents, businesses, and drivers should be aware of trucks entering and exiting the work zone, as well as noise, dust, vibration, and nighttime construction lighting.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to note reduced speeds of 45 mph, changing traffic patterns, and on-site construction activities and equipment while navigating in the area
